I know global weather patterns affect us by if the pattern now is cold we might get it.If a cold front is in Russia we might get it in a few days. That’s all I know.

    • alec says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us. My evidence is that jet streams pick up the moisture from the oceans for clouds to cause rain. Low air pressure causes storms when high-pressure light rain or stow.

  2. Megan says:

I am not sure, but I think that if there is like a snow storm approaching somewhere near Bemidji we will probably get it by the next day. When other parts of the world are in the summer season, people in Bemidji are having a harsh winter.

    • Megan says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us in Bemidji by, precipitation, condensation, evaporation, polar vortex, air masses, fronts, and the jet stream. My evidence is that when a cloud is over an ocean the jet stream which is strong winds that reach all over the globe and carries the cloud with all the moisture to a landform. Sometimes air masses push up other air masses and clouds can be riding air masses and when a cloud gets so high in the atmosphere they condense and precipitate.

  3. neal says:

If the water cycle is whar H2O is moving to please to help the environment to water the plants in the aryu. The H2O will vaprat into a the sky so it will come down in few days and help the plans to grow for needs for living things. The raine in the clowns niet not come down in the same place is my come down on the other side of the world. Depending on the whether it my come down as snow or hail this is caused by the cold tempsher that freeze it .

    • neal says:

I claim my evidence because i know that the weather effects Bemidji. Sins the jet stream will comes the fronts to clyde to make a mass storm of a calme small storm. The risin the jet stream effects this is that the vaprashin from trees, oshins and lakes will caos a clad with mashter. The way a cloud is made is that a form of water on the ground or a plant. By tripatshin whar the plant will evaporate the mshter form th the plant. Then Condensation
will happen it will utash to dust or smoke in the sky and form a cloud. This cloud will need a cold front so it can rain ifit clids with the hot front ti will storm hord. If the hot front clouds with the cold it just a little storm

  4. Jestin says:

The patterns always go over us resulting in us getting cold or hot in specific reason. In winter, Bemidji will be very cold because we are on the northern part of MN, and in summer Bemidji becomes warm. The Global Weather patterns will determine Bemidji weather and temperature.

    • Jestin says:

The cold front usually goes over us and causes cold winters and the jet stream plays part in that also by dipping over us in winter so we get storms and a lot of snow. We have long winters because of both things and we get bad storms that give us 8 inches of snow and we get to only get 2 hours off school.

  5. Amadeo says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us in Bemidji by if there is a lot of cold air coming here it will be colder, if humid air is coming here there might be rain/snow, and if warm air is coming here it will be warmer, also the movement of molecules in the atmosphere in another hemisphere can influence the movement of ones here and cause other ones to come here. My evidence is that we can see that the movement of water in one part of a body of water will affect water on the other side and even though water and the atmosphere are in different states they are both fluids and fluids should react similarly to each other if similar forces are put on them.

    • Amadeo says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us in Bemidji by if the jet stream goes unusually far south in winter it might be unusually cold, also if a continental polar air mass is colliding with a tropical oceanic air mass here there will be a lot of precipitation. My evidence is that a lot of evaporation can happen over an ocean especially in tropical regions and if that air is cooled down by a colder air mass it won’t be able to keep holding that much water and it will precipitate, also the north side of the jet stream has a lot of cold air and that air is usually colder than the air directly south of it.

  6. david says:

Global weather patterns could affect us by lowering temperatures and making precipitation more common.

    • David says:

I claim global weather patterns can affect us by giving us high strength storms and colder or warmer weather. My evidence is if a cold front was pushed by the jet stream from the deep north or the deep south and came over the ocean, we could see a very rainy or snowy next few weeks. If a nice warm front came over from the southern U.S. we could have a nice warm but dry few weeks. How this happens is if an air mass or front( a front is a chain of air masses led by a front) passes over an ocean or large body of water, it will collect moisture and slowly become saturated and then it can generate precipitation for longer. If not, well less rain or snow for us.

  7. adrianna says:

I don’t necessarily know how the weather patterns would affect bemidji, but my guess is that since there is a lake, it will be colder downtown than it is uptown because there is a lot of wind at or near the lake. If there is a cold front somewhere across the world we might get it in a few days or weeks. If there is a warm front across the world, it’s the same thing we’ll get it after a while.

    • Adrianna says:

I claim that the global weather patterns would affect people in Bemidji, because if a jet stream goes south in the winter it might be really cold out of the blue. If a continental air mass ran into a Tropical one there may be a whole bunch of precipitation. My evidence is that a whole bunch of evaporation can happen over an ocean or body of water in the tropical areas. The north side of the jetstream has a bunch of cold air and that air is most likely colder than the air that’s south of it.If the air cools down by a cold air mass, it won’t be able to hold all that water and it will rain or snow or something.

  8. Olivia says:

I claim that weather patterns affect us on how our cars run or even our everyday life. My evidence is like I’ve heard that some people put like a blanket on their car engines to keep it warm so it will start in the morning so they can work. I also think like the weather somewhere else could be affecting our weather, it could somehow get to us because the rain or snow could move throughout states and get to our state.

  9. Nevaeh says:

I claim that whatever happened in the weather we would get a little taste of it. My evidence is you look at Canada if they have a cold front we usually get a little taste of it sooner or later we have air coming from the Arctic. If we look at it from a different point of view the world turns and we have night and day we rotate at a 23.5 degree angle which can affect the weather summer, we get heat from the equator and when the earth turns a different way we get the sun on us more than other places we take turns. Now back to Canada if they have a large snow storm that is very vast it could hit us most likely. So the weather all over the world could have an impact on our town and state.

    • nevaeh says:

I claim that jet streams and fronts play a huge part in our weather, my evidence is you look at down in the amazon they get large amounts of rain because there might be a front and the jet stream may move that front or mass along over and ocean or large body of water in which we gain more moisture. Now for example look at Bemidji and Canada we usually get some of their weather after a while not always but sometimes we do, like if I remember right we got a fairly large snowstorm last week which dumped about 6in on us like how lucky are we. In the winter we get a taste of the arctic air up north in the north pole, as you know it the earth rotates on it access which is at a tilt of 23.5 degrees, now that has a little bit of an affect on our weather and seasons which is a good thing to know right now the earth is rotating big time right now we are going to change seasons and that will bring more rain and moisture form the ocean thanks to the jet streams, now i have babaled on long enough.

  10. Trey says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us here in Bemidji by determining our weather. My evidence is that we are part of the world and are in the same atmosphere as the rest of the world. There is only so much space in the atmosphere and it wants to stay at the same density so high pressure in one area will cause wind moving away from that area and into the low-density area. Warm areas by the ocean will have moisture in the air and that moisture can come to Bemidji as snow or rain.

    • Trey says:

I claim that the reason that global weather patterns affect us here in Bemidji is that the whole world is one big weather system. My evidence is that there are jet streams over the whole world and they bring in weather from other places. If it is hot over the ocean there will be lots of water vapor in the air and the wind will bring it inland and it will rain on us. Also, the atmosphere will try to have the same air pressure all over so if one area is less dense it will have more pressure and move to even it out.

  11. Olivia says:

I claim that weather patterns effect us on how our cars run or even our everyday life. My evidence is like I’ve heard that some people put like a blanket on their car engines to keep it warm so it will start in the morning so they can work. I also think like the weather somewhere else could be effecting our weather, it could somehow get to us because the rain or snow could move throughout states and get to our state.

  12. Dante says:

Global weather patterns affect us here in Bemidji because one the wind comes in from a certain direction we get rain or snow a couple of days after that.

    • Dante says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us here in Bemidji. My evidence is that when jet streams go over the oceans they pick up moisture and all that air rises and it condenses around smoke or dust. When it becomes heavy it rains or snows. When there is low air pressure it would start to rain.

  13. Damian says:

The global weather patterns can form some weather patterns in various of other areas, including Bemidji. A snow storm approaching from up north, it can cause a storm soon, like in the night or the day after. A blizzard, for one, could come in from the north in Canada and bring heavy snow falls to the northern areas, like Bemidji. The fronts may also take part in the weather patterns, warm fronts, cold fronts, stationary fronts and occluded fronts, turning the temperature and weather patterns.

    • Damian says:

I claim that global weather patterns are caused by the jet streams, fronts and air masses, precipitation, and evaporation. My evidence is that the jet stream is always moving and evaporation is always occurring, that the jet stream picks up the water vapor and, efficiently, bringing it along to any continent it comes upon. It will possibly bring rain, if it is warm or hot enough, and rain down until it is possibly stopped or slowed down by mountains. Air masses bring fronts and the fronts are caused by the clashing of two air masses. With two different air masses and fronts, warm and cold air masses/fronts, could change the weather in any area pretty much at any time. Like the polar vortex for example, when the jet stream came down from the north, like Canada, it brought with it a violent blizzard, much like the blizzard that occurred in 1888 but not as murderous.

  14. Raven says:

I believe global weather patterns might be the conditions or state of a location’s weather so like if it’s cloudy or rainy it’s like that because of how the weather was previously before it started to change but I’m not sure. This is just what I believe global weather patterns might mean.

    • Raven says:

I claim that we are affected by global weather patterns here in Bemidji because of where we are located near the Polar vortex, But before I say my evidence I should probably give a little background about what the polar vortex is. The polar vortex is a low-pressure area lying at either one of the earth’s poles, Bemidji is located closer to the north polar vortex and because of that our weather here is very cold due to the low air pressure from the polar vortex.

  15. alex says:

I claim that if it is globally windy then in Bemidji it will also be windy and other than that I know nothing.

    • alex says:

I claim that if it is globally cold and stormy then in Bemidji, it will also be cold and stormy my evidence is jet streams will bring the cold air and precipitation

  16. Samuel T. says:

The patterns of weather in Bemidji are usually wet in Spring, warm in Summer, chilly in Fall, and very cold in Winter, take last week for example. The global weather patterns, on the other hand, are sometimes not as varying in Bemidji, it’s cold most of the year in the Arctic and hot all year round in the Tropics. As these temperatures almost never change, it could very easy for wind to blow in through the Tropics and maybe that’s why we can sometimes have a warm day in Winter or if wind bearing water particles meets the air up in northern MN, we could have a snow-covered ground in the Fall that’s gone in a day or two. (I’m not a Meteorologist so I don’t know if the wind thing is possible.)

  17. kylie says:

Snow, frost and the north wind come from the arctic air. Arctic air cools down the temperature.

    • Kylie says:

Jet streams carry warm and cold air from the Arctic and Tropical regions. The polar vortex carries cold air from the north during winter months. Marine tropical air comes from the jet streams around the equator. The moisture evaporates from the ocean and into the atmosphere. The jet streams blow the air inland where it falls as precipitation.

  18. Sarah says:

I’m not sure but I think that any weather that hits Bemidji has come from the North, West, and sometimes south. As it gets colder over here the rain will usually change to snow or ice.

  19. cody says:

I claim that mother nature controls the weather patterns and my evidence is that the weather patterns move for season to season around the entire planet

  20. Mason says:

If it’s hot and dry in Canada and winds moving South any evaporated water will move toward Bemidji and could rain on us but with our cold winter the rain would freeze and become snow!

    • Mason says:

If it’s hot at Florida and suddenly rains there, the water vapor can get picked up by winds and travel all the way here in many trips because one wind can’t travel so much water so far. but some day the water will get here and will fall and because its cold here it would freeze and become snow.

  21. Russ says:

We get the polar vortex this time of year which causes a several day stretch of very cold weather.

  22. matt says:

I think that global weather patterns affect Bemidji by determining our weather. If it is cold somewhere east of us we will likely get close to the same weather on a different day depending on how far away it is.

    • matt says:

I claim that global weather patterns can affect us if a jet stream goes farther north or south than usual. My evidence is that the air north is colder so if the jet stream is farther south it will be colder. Also if the jet stream is farther north than usual it will be warmer there. We also recently we had a polar vortex which is an air mass that is farther south than it usually is.

  23. Makya says:

I think it affects us by making it warmer or colder somewhere else and making it colder or warmer here, I don’t know why this happens yet.

  24. Vera says:

I don’t really know, but what I think is that if someplace close to us like Alaska or Canada is cold we will eventually get their weather and probably snow. I think that would be considered a weather pattern because we would still be getting affected by the places around us. But overall I don’t know anything about this topic.

    • Vera says:

I claim that we get affected by weather patterns globally by Fronts, and Air masses. My evidence is that when we get fronts there not only coming here they hit other places too, and when we get air masses it’s usually by other places near us. So when we get low pressures and cold air masses we know that it’s going to snow, and we get our snowy weather from places like Canada. When it’s snowy there chances are it is here, and if it’s hot there it most likely is here too. That’s a few of the ways that I know that other climates affect us globally.

  25. Caden says:

Global weather can affect us here in Bemidji. For example, if there is a massive storm in Canada then that storm could float down into Bemidji and then we could get a drop in temperate or a big storm.

    • Caden says:

I claim that Jet streams can affect us here in Bemidji. My evidence is that Jet streams are strong winds up in the atmosphere that move all around the earth. These winds could move big storms to us or even just a warm front or a cold front. Also jet streams could pick moisture from a ocean then bring it to a mountain range. The jet stream would then go up that mountain and because it is colder at higher altitudes clouds form making rain or any other precipitation. When this happens the wind continues to the other side of the mountains gaining pressure and heat with little moisture.

  26. Isaac says:

It effects us by how its warm in the summer, cold in fall, and really cold in winter, and wet in spring. So basically it effects us by what weather and temperature we get, cold weather, warm weather, rain, etc. And the weather moves west to east usually so if its warm in North Dakota, its going to be warm here soon.

    • isaac says:

I claim that global weather affects us in Bemidji Minnesota by jet streams affecting how warm or how cold it gets in the 4 different seasons. My evidence is that the jet stream bring in cold or warm air depending on where it was before it hit us, like in the winter if it was in Canada and came down it would bring some unusually cold air, and the jet stream is down south in warmer weather and comes up to Minnesota it will most likely bring some warmer weather.

  27. Duran says:

What I know is that the weather patterns affect Bemidji because warm and cold fronts can come somewhere in the world and it could reach us and change the temperature over here.

  28. Kaylene says:

I don’t really know how the weather patterns would affect bemidji but sense there is a big lake that it would be colder down here in bemidji then anywhere else in the world. I also think the weather somewhere else could be affecting our weather here in bemidji.

    • Kaylene says:

I claim that the jet stream is a big part of what the weather is like in Bemidji, my evidence is that in winter time it is usually really cold and that’s because the jet stream goes over the ocean and get moisture and then that would affect how bemidjis weather is.

  29. destiny says:

I think that the global weather affects us here in Bemidji through the wind.

  30. Michael says:

I think Canada affects us because they get a lot of snow and then we get a lot of snow. So say they had really cold winds and a lot of snow then there’s A chance we could probably get a lot of snow and that’s all I know about this stuff.

  31. Pamela says:

I am not for sure why the global weather patterns affect us, but I think the global weather patterns affect us in Bemidji because the earth is tilted at an angle. So that would mean that at one part of the world is having summer right now and we who are in Bemidji are having winter.

    • Pamela says:

I claim that fronts, air masses, and jet streams affect us in Bemidji. My evidence is when there is an air mass moves down from like Canada we here in Bemidji are going to get cold weather. Jet streams have an effect on us. Strips of strong winds have a huge influence on climate and the temperature.

  32. Kendra says:

In Bemidji we have cold weather during winter, I think that the weather in Bemidji is affected by places around the world.
The oceans bring cold breezes and rain, and the weather from land brings warm weather from the south and colder weather from the north.

    • Kendra says:

In Bemidji, global temperatures affect us in many ways. One way we are affected is cold fronts that come from Canada and other northern regions. Another way is warm fronts that come from the southern and southwestern regions. Another way is the jet stream, which drops bursts of cold and warm air.

  33. Veronica says:

I am not sure, but I think if there is colder air coming towards Bemidji it will get colder, if warm air is coming towards Bemidji it will get warmer. For example, cold winds from Canada can blow towards Bemidji and those winds can change the temperature in Bemidji to be colder.

  34. cali says:

Global means the whole world, right, so a heat wave say, in India, might make it 3 degrees warmer here.

  35. Hailey says:

The global weather patterns in Bemidji can change a lot. For example, in the Fall we have chilly weather, Winter has freezing weather, Spring is damp and wet, and Summer is humid and hot. Whilst in other places the weather is warm or cold all-year-round. Fronts cause some of this weather. For example, cold or warm fronts that are heading for Bemidji may produce freezing blizzards, horrific thunderstorms, or humid droughts. Another thing that may affect our weather would be if a snowstorm from Canada brings heavy snow storms in Bemidji. However, these are only some of the ways I know how Global weather affects Bemidji.

    • Hailey says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us here in Bemidji by jet streams, fronts, air masses, precipitation, air pressure, condensation, and evaporation. My evidence is that as a jet stream moves and picks up moisture or water vapor from large bodies of water, some of it condenses into a cloud by evaporating. These clouds are then carried by this jet stream which may carry an air mass with it. With these clouds is cloud cover, which may cause precipitation or rain to fall on the incoming landforms. However, this precipitation depends on whether the air pressure is low or high. If the air pressure is low, it will cause precipitation. Nevertheless, if the air pressure is high, it will cause almost clear calm weather. Another factor would be if two different air masses collided and created a warm/cold front. These fronts could then cause cloud cover, precipitation, and the temperature to be warmer or colder.

  36. Carlos says:

I claim that global weather affects us in many ways. By many ways I mean to change our ways of life, make it colder, and that it causes more precipitation. My proof is the past month in which we got a polar vortex meanwhile other people didn’t get as cold as it did in Bemidji. Air masses could also give us either warm air or cold air along with fronts like if there is a cold front in a different part of the country it’s gonna come to Bemidji making it very cold. Also with a warm front when the warm front comes to Bemidji it makes it warmer which probably won’t be too warm.

  37. Sarah says:

I claim that global weather affects us because it causes precipitation and makes it colder. Fronts can change the way or type of weather we get. My proof is the pressure of the air changes the temp. and precipitation we will have. If a place near us has a warm front or cold front we will most likely get one aswell.

  38. Emily says:

I claim that global weather affecting Bemidji involves many things like cold front and warm front or polar vortex. When a cold front is created it replaces the warm air and you get bad weather. When a warm front is created the warm air goes over the cold and it moves and you get warm weather. The polar vortex is a strong wind that swirls and is in polar regions. When it moves down then it can affect some place somewhere else to get the weather from the polar areas. My evidence is when a cold front is created you get thunderstorms. When a warm one is created you get mild rain or warm temperatures. They are created in one place then move affecting other places. When it moves down then it can affect some place somewhere else to get the weather from the polar areas.

  39. Sam Tom says:

I claim that the weather from everywhere affects us here in Bemidji is some way or other. My evidence is that wind from the arctic circle blows through Canada and creates a cold front, the winds from down south create warm fronts, the air masses behind them push them toward each other like warring giants, and when they meet, the warm front, being less dense than the cold front because the warm air has more kinetic energy so the molecules are pushing away from each other, leaving more space in between the molecules. The air masses can be one of four types of air masses, 1.) cT continental tropical, 2.) cP continental polar 3) mT marine tropical
Or 4) marine polar. If one area is high pressure, that area is more likely to have good weather than a low pressure area. The barometric pressure of an area determines the weather and the temperature affects what form of precipitation will fall, cold temperature = snow,
hot temperature = rain. The winds of African deserts carry dust into the air and into jet streams, which could carry it the the Amazon where it could branch off and enter another jetstream and arrive in Bemidji, where it will be blend with the air which has water vapor in it and the water will cling to the dust therefore causing it to rain in Bemidji.

  40. cody says:

I claim that mother nature is mad that the people are not caring earth because she makes so much snow. My evidence is if take care of our planet Mother nature won’t be mad at us.

  41. Makya says:

I claim that global weather patterns affect us here in Bemidji due to cold fronts coming down here and making it precipitate and making the temperature colder. The cold fronts come from cold air masses that comes from jet streams that come from the oceans cold air.

  42. ryan says:

I claim that global weather affects us because it causes precipitation and makes it colder. When a cold front is created it replaces the warm air and you get bad weather. When a warm front is created the warm air goes over the cold and it moves and you get warm weather. My evidence is that the jet stream brings in cold or warm air depending on where it was before it hit us.

  43. Saze says:

I claim that global weather affects us by jet streams, air masses, condensation, cold fronts, and precipitation. My evidence is that when jet streams slow down, causing air masses to form and condense, forming cold fronts, making precipitation occur.

  44. michael says:

I claim that global weather could affect us in a lot of different ways in Bemidji like the northern regions where it’s a lot colder then cold fronts from the northern region could move up to us which there is a cold air mass behind it. Or there could be a jet stream where it drops and brings bursts of cold air into minnesota or Bemidji.
