Explain why we have seasons.

Because the earth is always spinning around the sun, The time changes from day to night. This also affects the seasons.

  2. alec says:

We have seasons because of the rotation axis of the earth. It turns and that causes the northern hemisphere to be closer. While the southern hemisphere will be farther from the sun.

  3. Megan says:

We have seasons because of the tilt of the Earth and how the sun shines on the Earth. That is all I know about why we have seasons.

  4. Olivia says:

I claim that i think we have seasons because of some way the earth moves or maybe tilts. My evidence is when the earth tilts toward the sun for a certain amount of time we have summer and maybe when it tilts away we have winter. Maybe something to do with the earth’s Axis.

  5. Amadeo says:

I claim that seasons happen because the tilt of the earth makes it so that different parts of the world get different amounts of sunlight at different parts of the year. My evidence is that this is what I’ve been told by multiple documentaries I’ve watched and it’s what I’ve been told in previous years at school. Also the effects are exactly what one would expect with the earth tilting in a particular direction in all points of the year.

  6. Nevaeh says:

I claim that the earth and sun play a major part in our seasons, my evidence is the earth is tilted on an axis of 23.5 degrees, we have a full year which is 365.3 days and it make a 360 degree turn which gives us this amount of sun and this amount of dark. Now right now the sun is making a huge change it is tilting upwards right as we speak and we were tilted downwards which gave us water which did not allow heat or to much sun, but now that the earth is doing it thing we are going into heat which is bringing slightly more sun and more heat to melt the snow and bringing better weather.

  7. Dante says:

We have seasons because we turn around the sun and when we have we are getting less sunlight because we are not facing the sun as much as in the summer.

  8. Jestin says:

Because we float around in the galaxy and the sun rays depend on what seasons we have like when sun rays are shining on Minnesota a lot we may have summer and less sun rays shining on us results in winter

  9. Raven says:

I believe that it has to do with the earth rotating around the sun causing us to have different seasons other than that I’m pretty much clueless about why we have seasons.

  10. Trey says:

I think that we have seasons because of the tilt of Earth’s axis. The earth is tilted at an angle of 23.50. That means that in July the northern hemisphere is closer to the sun than in January.

  11. adrianna says:

i think that we get seasons because when the earth spins or tilts or whatever we are facing the sun differently, and each time we move closer it gets warmer but when were further from the sun it gets colder.

  12. Emily says:

We have seasons because the earth is on a tilt and because it rotates. The sun will be closer to the ones that have summer and further for the ones that have winter.

  13. Damian says:

I think we have seasons because of the global weathering and the region we live in, the northern or southern hemisphere, near or far from the equator, that jazz. Some people may not have seasons, like near the equator don’t get snow (unless it’s the tops of mountains) but instead they get rain. Seasons chances may vary depending you’re location on the world. If you’re at a high altitude, like a mountain top, you’ll probably always have snow, if you’re at a lower altitude, like the base of a mountain or an open field, you’ll get rain and possibly snow. If you’re in the desert, probably some rain and very little to no snow, and if you’re in the rainforest, you’ll get a lot rain and probably no snow. But along with the question on why we have seasons, the seasons may help regulated the earth with the heat and the cold.

  14. Sarah says:

I claim that we have seasons because the Earth spins and is at a tilt. In Winter we are more tilted away from the Sun than in the Summer. In the Summer we (We as in the MN) have more of an angle in the Suns direction so even though we still spin we have more time in the suns light. In the Winter we spend less time facing the Sun.

  15. cody says:

I claim that the seasons like summer, autumn, winter, and spring travel around the world. My evidence is that mother nature is in charge of the seasons.

  16. Carlos says:

I think the reason we have seasons is because of where we are and how the earth tilts. Like if the earth is tilted towards the sun we have spring or summer. And if it’s tilted towards the opposite direction of the sun we get fall or winter.

  17. matt says:

We have seasons because the earth is tilted and rotates. When the earth rotates it is either going farther from the sun causing fall and winter or it going towards the sun causing spring and summer.

  18. Veronica says:

We have seasons because well the earth is circling the sun the earth is tilting at a certain degree and a certain area is getting more sunlight than other places on the globe. For example, when Bemidji is in the season of summer the earth is tilting so the northern hemisphere is receiving more sunlight than the southern hemisphere, that at that time would be having the season of winter.

  19. Caden says:

We have seasons because of how the earth moves around the sun getting closer at times and then getting farther away.

  20. Kaylene says:

I think we have seasons because the earth is tilted and that’s why we have cold winters and somewhat hot summers.

  21. Isaac says:

I think we have seasons because the tilt of the earth axis i’m pretty sure, the tilt of the earth means the earth will be leaning closer to the sun or away from the sun. If the earth leans more towards the sun it’s summer and like when the earth leans away that’s winter.

  22. Makya says:

    I have no clue

  23. Vera says:

I think that the only reason we have seasons is because of our world being at a tilt and our axis. So when our world is spinning and is closer to the sun we have summer, and when it’s not we have winter. I also think that it could because of the sun too, maybe when we are rotating it’s only hitting certain parts of the world causing the seasons to change.

  24. Mason says:

The reason we have seasons is because the earth’s rotation and the earth’s orbit around the sun. When you’re facing the sun the sun’s heat comes down on earth and warms up earth we call this “Day Time” but when you’re not facing the sun it’s “Night Time” but for seasons it’s because the earth’s orbit around the sun is not perfect and is not a circle and is more of a oval and the farther earth goes the more cold it is and this is what we call “Fall” but when we go even more farther it’s “Winter” but when we get closer it’s “Spring” then “Summer”!

  25. Pamela says:

I am not one-hundred percent sure if I am right but we have seasons because the Earth’s axis is tilted 23.5 degrees. So the earth tilts each time it orbits the sun.

  26. Saze says:

We have seasons due Earth turning. For example when the Earth is turning away from the sun it gets colder and when it gets closer it gets warmer

  27. Hailey says:

I think we have seasons because of how our Earth constantly rotates on its axis. The Earth is tilted at an axis of 23.5 degrees, this means that the axis is always pointing in the same direction. This tilt does not change as we rotate. In fact, this tilt causes the Northern and Southern hemisphere to trade places throughout the year in receiving the sun’s light and warmth. When the Northern Hemisphere is oriented towards the sun, that region of Earth warms because of the increase in solar radiation. The sun’s rays at that time are hitting that part of Earth at a more straight angle. When this happens, It’s summer. Winter happens when the Northern Hemisphere is oriented away from the sun when the sun’s rays are less directed. This causes that part of Earth to cool, thus causing Winter.

  28. David says:

I claim seasons are caused by the earth’s tilt. My evidence is, the earth is tilted on its axis so that one hemisphere north or south, is getting more direct sunlight than the other.
