Days and Seasons
What happens so that we have day and night? Also, what happens so that we have four seasons?
The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope. BARACK OBAMA
What happens so that we have day and night? Also, what happens so that we have four seasons?

The change between day and night is caused by the rotation of the Earth on its axis. When one side is facing towards the sun it is day while on the other side it is night. The reason we have seasons is because of the tilt of the Earth on its axis. Its axis is tilted 23.5°. This causes one hemisphere to receive less direct sunlight than the other. The hemisphere with more direct sunlight is in summer while the other season is in winter.
The Earth will spin that creates day and night. It orbits the sun which makes the four Seasons.
The Earth is constantly rotating at a 23 and a half degrees, the tilt makes day and night possible. For example, if we were on an Earth where there was no tilt, one side of the Earth would be constantly night, inhabitable of supporting life and one side would be constantly day. Hot, but possible to support life. The seasons follow much of the same pattern, but this happens based on the distance from the sun the earth is at different times of the year. The Earth got it’s 23 and 1/2 degree tilt from an ancient collision with another planet, before life on Earth even existed. Picture this, early Earth is orbiting the Sun in our zone we know as the Goldilocks zone, but so is another planet, the other planet collides with Early Earth Hitting It so hard it actually knocked the Earth onto its 23 1/2 degree tilt.
While the Earth is rotating around the sun, the Earth itself is also rotating, like a person on a swivel chair, thus, when your side of the Earth that you live on is facing the sun, it’s day, and when you’re facing away from the sun, it is night. When it comes to seasons, the Earth doesn’t rotate around the sun in a perfect cycle. At some times, the Earth is closer to the sun, which means it is hotter outside, and the sun will stay in the sky longer, as it is closer and will seem larger than previously, which means it’s summer. The opposite, when the Earth is farther away from the sun, the length of sunlight becomes smaller, and Earth is farther away from the sun, so it’s colder outside. This creates Winter. Autumn and Spring are just the seasons in the middle of the shift from Summer to Winter, or vise versa. Obviously, this isn’t all there is to it, there is a lot more that has to do with the seasons and things that play the role of a variable in the shifts. There is something that has to do with the Earth being at a 23 1/2 degree tilt that makes seasons possible, but I don’t completely get it yet, because I’m just an 8th grader, and this is about as much as I can tell you for now, until the knowledge of how it fully works enters my brain.
The Seasons are caused by Earth’s 25 1/2 degree tilt. During Summer, the tilt will be towards the sun, allowing direct sunlight, which makes it hot outside. During winter, the tilt is tilted away from the sun, disallowing direct sunlight, making it colder outside. The seasons in between, Fall and Spring, have equal amounts of daylight, and are just the seasons of Summer and Winter shifting to the other.
23 1/2, not 25 1/2
We get day and night because the earth goes around the sun and that’s how we have day and night it’s not that hard to know. We have seasons because, at different times of the year, the sun’s rays hit different parts of the globe more direct.
The reason why we have day time and night time is because when we have day time in America on the other side of the world it is night time and we only have one moon and one sun. The sun and moon can’t be in two places at once. We have four seasons because in the winter we lack sunlight. In summer we have way more sunlight and the sun is much hotter than in the wintertime.
We have day and night because of the Earth’s rotation. The rotation is when the earth spins around the sun making day and night. The reason we have rotation is so we can have daytime, nighttime, and the seasons. Seasons are caused by direct and indirect sunlight. When the sun is shining directly where you live that means it’s summertime. When the sun is shining indirect sunlight it’s wintertime where you live.
The earth isn’t tidally locked which means its spins on an axis and the spin causes day and night. And the fact that the earth spins on a 23.5-degree axis causes seasons for the northern and southern hemispheres but near the equator, they have a consistent summer with 12 hours day and night while in the northern and southern hemispheres the number of hours for day and night change
The earth spins around the sun, which is the thing that gives us light and heat and the light is what causes daytime to be…Daytime.
And the earth’s motion is what also causes seasons, the seasons change based on where the earth is, based on which part of earth is facing the sun like when a side of the earth is facing the opposite direction from the sun which is colder, that’s winter and when its slowly turning and transitioning, that’s fall and spring which eventually turns into summer etc. -_-
The earth rotates by the sun, so that’s how we get night and day. We have seasons because the earth is tilted weird and it orbits the sun.
Since the Earth orbits around the Sun the Sun will project light onto the Earth. It’s the same thing with it turning night.
As Far as the 1st question goes I have no clue on why we have seasons.
Because the Earth rotates on an imaginary line running through the middle called the axis, it rotates to create day and night. This is called rotation. The Earth orbits around the sun and tilts at an angle towards the sun to create seasons. This is called revolution.
1. The day is caused because the Earth has orbited around the sun to where we can’t see the sun and the sun starts the day for the other side of the world. The moon lights up the night. When the sun comes back around after we orbited the sun and then starts a new day and the sun blocks the moon. 2. Not every place has all the 4 seasons. like Florida has Fall, Spring, Summer but mostly summer and spring. But Minnesota has all 4 seasons winter, fall, spring, summer. 2 months of fall, 6 months of winter, 1 month of spring, 3 months of summer
1. The day and night is caused by the part of the earth being direct with the sun and gives that part of the earth light and the other side of the earth is night because it is indirect with the sun so it has no light. 2. The seasons are caused by the tilt of 23.25 degrees. so if the sun is direct with the other hemisphere it’s going to be spring or summer and the southern hemisphere is going to be winter. If the southern and northern hemisphere gets the same amount of sunlight/heat it’s going to befall.
The Earth orbits around the sun spinning resulting in only one side of the Earth to be light and one side to be dark. The Earth is tilted at a 23.5 degree angle resulting in a change of season.
The sun orbits the earth and that makes the sun shine on different parts of the earth. It also makes it dark on the side that’s not facing the sun. That’s how we have day and night.
We have seasons because certain spots on earth have different temperatures so that makes different seasons, and the temperatures can change in places, but sometimes they stay the same.
The earth spins in a rotation which is basically just the earth turning on its axis. That makes days and nights because depending on which part of the earth is facing towards the sun makes it day on one side and night on the other.
We have seasons because of the earth being tilted on its’ axis, like if it’s fall in the Northen hemisphere it means that the Northern Hemisphere is facing more away from the sun. Because of that, the southern hemisphere is facing more towards the sun so it’s spring there.
Days and nights happen as the earth is orbiting. As the earth is orbiting we get sunlight some parts of our day, and no sunlight the other part of our day. This is because when the earth is spinning the sun will only hit earth on certain parts, at certain times of day. During the night the sunlight is on the other half of the earth making one side very dark, known as night. Seasons happen on earth because the earth is angled. I don’t remember the specific degree the earth is angled to but I do know that due to this tilt the earth has, it creates seasons because the earth’s tilt will create some parts of the year warmer and some parts of the year colder as it orbits.
The reasons we have days and nights happen because of rotation. Rotation is the Earth spinning on its axis. To complete one full cycle of rotation it will take 24 hours and during these 24 hours, the Earth alternates between day and night. The Earth is spinning during rotation so half the day Earth is facing the sun (daytime) while the other half the Earth is facing away from the sun towards the moon (nighttime).
We have seasons because the Earth is tilted on its axis at 23.5 degrees. Revolution is Earth orbiting the sun. It takes earth 365 ¼ days to complete one full cycle of revolution. Seasons occur because while the Earth is spinning it is also tilted, because of this we are tilted towards the sun during some parts of the year and away from other parts of the year. For example, while the northern hemisphere is in winter its because it’s tilted away from the sun giving it less direct sunlight. While the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, the southern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun giving it much more direct sunlight, and making the days longer and nights shorter. During fall and spring, the earth is getting the same amount of direct sunlight, also the days and nights are equal during this time.
We have day and night because the earth rotates for 24 hours so half the day is night and the other half is day time. It kind’ve depends on which season it is because during winter there is more night time than day time and during the summer there is more day time. We also have 4 seasons because the earth gets tilted.
The Sun orbits around the Earth making it daylight at certain times on Earth. When the Sun orbits onto the other side of the Earth, the Moon makes its way over into the darkness and gives a little bit light making it not completely dark making it night time. Then when the Sun comes back around, the Moon is continuing to orbit around, and so that cycle repeats over and over, I think. I think global warming is what makes the seasons because that’s honestly all I can think of.
The Earth itself rotates around the sun while it also spins in a circle daily. If the Earth is facing the sun where you are at, it’s day and your most likely awake and not asleep. Meanwhile on the other side of the Earth that is facing away from the sun, its night. During the night you’re more likely to be asleep than awake. While we’re constantly spinning around the sun, we have seasons. Not every place has Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Not every place has the same amount of time each season. Some places have a longer amount with winter, some with summer, fall, and spring. Each place is different with days, nights, and seasons.
The reasons why the Earth happens to have day and night: it’s called rotation. Rotation is where the Earth itself spins on its axis and it takes a full 24 hours for the Earth to complete its rotation. Let’s say it’s day over here in America and night in Asia, in Asia people are most likely sleeping and over here in America we’re awake. We’re constantly always spinning in a full circle, and while we have rotation with day and night going on, the Earth is also going in a bigger circle. Which revolves around the sun causing: seasons. The bigger rotation we go in around the sun is called: revolution. Revolution causes seasons which are all called Spring,, Summer,, Fall,, and Winter. But not every place on Earth has the same seasons going on. While us Minnesotans have Winter down South past the equator those places are having, Summer. While we’re in Fall those places are in Spring. We’re not always with the same season and past the equator down South, they don’t have snow. During Winter we tilt away from the sun getting a little bit of sun: not a whole lot like in Summer. It happens in every season during Fall we start to tilt away from the Sun,, Winter we don’t completely tilt away from the Sun,, Spring we start to tilt towards the Sun,, and in Summer we tilt towards the Sun getting more direct sunlight. That’s what causes day and night,, and seasons.
The earth spins around and that is how we get day and night.
The earth is at a 23.5-degree tilt while spinning and orbiting around the sun. That is why we get the seasons.
Days and nights: The sun orbits around the earth, causing the sun to shine in some places on the globe.
Seasons: Some parts of the earth are different temperatures, thanks to the sun orbiting around the globe.
We have day and night due to the rotation of the earth around the sun. We have four seasons due to the earth’s tilt.
We have day and night because of the earth spinning around, and that happening is what causes day and night. The earth is on a 23.5-degree tilt making the seasons happen.
Days and nights occur as the Earth orbits around the sun! When one half of the earth is facing the sun, that is daytime, and the other half that is not is night. Seasons occur because the earth has a tilt of 23 1/2 degrees. This makes the sunshine onto different parts of the Earth, which changes the temperature, and the amount of sun. This causes the seasons, in the different hemispheres.
Days and nights occur because of something called rotation. Rotation is when the earth is spinning on its axis, which is a 23 ½ °. Because the Earth is constantly rotating, the Earth is changing positions when facing the sun. When one part of the Earth is facing the sun, it is daytime because it is receiving light from the sun’s rays. Then the other half of the Earth that isn’t facing the sun it is night because it is not getting any sun rays because it isn’t facing the sun. When the Earth rotates these positions change and makes Days and nights. It takes 24 hours for one side of the earth to have gone through the day and night cycle.
Seasons occur because of revolution and the Earths tilt. Revolution is when the Earth orbits around the sun, this takes exactly 365 ¼ days (One full cycle of revolution). The Earths tilt is caused by the axis’s tilt which is 23 ½. The Earth has seasons because it is in a certain position every time a season is started. The Earth is usually at the four cardinal directions at the start of each season(N, W, S, E). The Earth is having two seasons, one in the Northern Hemisphere and the season in the Southern hemisphere it is the opposite season than the Northern Hemispheres season. So, for example, say it is Wintertime in the Northern Hemisphere, and Summer in the Southern hemisphere, it is only Summer because the Hemisphere is facing the sun more and getting more sun rays causing the warmer temperatures. It is Winter in the Northern Hemisphere because the tilt is causing it to get fewer sun rays, which makes the temperatures colder. This is the same with Fall and Spring it is just in a different spot in Revolution. As the Earth moves through the revolution cycle, it is constantly changing, which causes seasons!
We have day and night because the earth orbits the sun. And when the earth orbits the sun the side that isn’t facing the sun has the moon on that side so it is night. We have seasons because the earth is tilted.
The change between day and night has to do with the orbit of the earth. The change in seasons comes from the tilt of the earth towards or away from the sun. The Earth will spin that creates day and night.
The reasons we have days and nights happen because of rotation. Rotation is the Earth spinning on its axis. To complete one full cycle of rotation it will take 24 hours and during these 24 hours, the Earth alternates between day and night. The Earth is spinning during rotation so half the day Earth is facing the sun while the other half the Earth is facing away from the sun towards the moon.
The earth is at a tilt and it spins around the sun. Where the sun is showing the most is daytime when the sun is on the other side it’s night. The earth orbits the sun that makes the four seasons.
Days and nights are caused by the rotation of the earth, when a part of earth is facing more towards the sun its daytime on the other half that’s facing away from the sun its night. Seasons are caused by the earth’s 23 ½ degree tilt, if it’s winter in the north and summer in the southern hemisphere the sun will show more in the south causing less sun to show in the north making it colder.
The earth goes swoosh and spins and makes days and nights. But I honestly don’t know how seasons are made, those confuse me.
Okay, wow. I’m big dumb. Anyways, The earth rotates for day and night, and it has a tilt so when it goes around the sun and if the tilt is facing the sun then that part of the earth would get more direct sunlight than the other part of the earth.
We have days and nights because the way the Earth spins. We have seasons based on the way the Earth is tilted.
There are days and nights because the earth revolves around the sun so that one side faces the sun which is day and the other side faces away from the sun which is night. There are season because of the earth’s axis that the tilt of the earth, and the seasons are based on the revolution of the earth, revolution of is the way the earth moves around the sun that give us season, and the axis splits the earth in half so the eastern hemispheres one season and the northern hemisphere has another season.
Day and night is a sequence that happens when the sun goes up and down. The earth is spinning and the earth spins seasons change. Seasons happen because Earth tilts differently and as it turns we get different seasons. Such as if the sun is turned away from us we get winter yet if we are turned to the sun we get summer as it is hotter. This is how we get our seasons it depends on the position of the earth
day and night are caused by the earth’s 23.5-degree angle as the earth rotates one side of the earth is pointed away from the sun and that side is night as the other side of the earth is day this happens every day as for seasons this is very similar but the earth revolves around the sun and as the earth moves with its 23.5 degree angle and as the days go one on one side it is getting a lot of sun but the other side is grazing the earth that makes the season winter other seasons are based on the position.
We have day and night because the Earth rotates around the sun, but the sun also spins in a circle causing different parts of the Earth to face the sun. While a certain part of the earth faces the sun it is day and when while the globe keeps rotating, causing the part of Earth you are at facing away from the sun, that is when it is night.
We have seasons because of the part of the globe we are at. While Earth is spinning, the seasons occur. Summer happens when the part of earth you are at faces the sun and when you are facing away from the sun it is winter. If we were by the equator there would be no spring, winter, or fall it would always be summer.
Earth has day and night because It is constantly rotating around its axis. One rotation takes approximately 24 hours. This makes it so that one part of the earth faces the sun and the other part of the Earth is facing away from the sun. The part of Earth facing the sun is day and the part of the earth that is facing away from the sun is night. Earth has seasons because of revolution. Revolution is when the earth orbits the sun once, this takes 365 1/4 days. Summer occurs in the northern hemisphere when it is tilted towards the sun, receiving more direct sunlight. While it is summer in the northern hemisphere, it is winter in the southern hemisphere because it is receiving less direct sunlight.
Because the Earth is on a 23.5 angle. It moves around the sun at that angle. That makes the seasons happen. The Earth spins as it orbits so that makes day and night.
The Earth is on a 23.5-degree axis so that makes the seasons when it makes a revolution around the Sun because the Hemisphere that points toward the Sun is Summer and the other one is Winter. And it rotates in a circle so that makes day and night.
The earth has a tilt witch gives you a day and night.
The four seasons are based on the distance between the earth the sun.
It probably has to do with the earth orbiting around the sun causing it to have one side with sun and the other dark.
The reason why we have seasons is that the earth is at a 23.5-degree angle.
One part of the earth is facing the sun while the other is Facing away causing it to have night and day.
The earth orbits the sun called a revolution while in the revolution the earth is at a tilt of 23.5 degrees causing it to have seasons.
The earth is round.
When the sun goes away it turns night.
When the sun comes back it turns morning.
In December it is winter here but in Africa it is like summer.
Day and night are made by the earth’s rotation.
Earth’s seasons fall, winter, spring, and summer are made by revolution.
Earth is tilted 23.5 degrees so Earth is tilted near the sun which is summer.
Earth is tilted away from the sun which is winter.
Earth is tilted neither away nor near the sun which is fall or spring.
The reason we have a day/night cycle is because the earth rotates the sun. Wherever the earth is facing the sun and the moon isn’t visible that would be night and whatever part isn’t facing the sun and the moon is visible it’s night.
Days and nights happen because earth spins. Seasons have to do with the earth orbiting the sun at a certain angle.
The days and nights have to do with the way the earth spins on its axis. the seasons take place by the earth being at a certain angle facing towards the sun.
I think the wind is caused by the moon and the sun. The gives UV rays which make the wind hot and the moon makes it cold and the temperature outside affects the wind too.
the earth has one full rotation every 24 hours, day and night are based on which side of the earth is facing the sun. There are different seasons because of the 23.5-degree tilt and the revolution of the earth around, the sun the earth is always tilted so when the northern hemisphere is facing towards the sun it is summer in the northern hemisphere and winter in the southern hemisphere, when the southern hemisphere is facing the sun it is summer in the southern hemisphere and winter in the northern hemisphere.
I’m guessing it has to do with the differents of heat between the earth and its ampisphyer.
The change between day and night has to do with the orbit of the Earth around the sun. The change in seasons comes from the change in the tilt of the Earth towards or away from the sun.
