  1. Emma says:

The sun is big and hot. Apparently, if sound could travel through space it would be as loud as a jackhammer all the time.

  2. carter says:

I now that the sun is a star and the earth go’s around the sun.

  3. janessa says:

What I know about the Sun is that it is the biggest planet of them all and all of the plants need the sun. All of said planets circle around the sun.

  4. Louis says:

The Sun is a giant hot flaming ball of gas. Planets like earth and mars orbit around the sun.

  5. Maverick says:

The sun is a fire ball of gas and fire that keeps the planets in our solar system in order. Whether the planets are livable or not, the sun keeps our plants in their rotation. If we did not have the sun, the planet’s rotation would most likely revolve around Jupiter. The sun keeps our planets in their place, and provides a source of light, energy, and nutrients that many species on Earth need. The vitamins that the sun gives us are very important for us, as if we didn’t have them, we wouldn’t have plants, melanin, and heat to keep us alive. Our bodies need the warmth from the sun to survive how we do now. The sun is also constantly growing, and it is believed that in a few billion years, the sun will grow an exponential rate that could swallow Mercury, Venus, and Earth. But chances are, we will have grown as a society enough to figure out how to save the planets from being swallowed, or find new ones to inhabit.

  6. X says:

What I know about our sun is that it is a normal-sized yellow star that was made around 4.6 billion years ago. As a yellow star, it has a normal-sized lifetime, not a fast one like a red giant, or a long one like a white dwarf. Because of its normal size, it will never supernova and turn into the rare neutron star or even rarer black-hole.

I also know that our sun was made from “the” solar nebula and as the sun started to form, gravity around the newborn star flattened the rest of the solar nebula into a neat disk that eventually became our solar system.

Good thing I read a lot.

  7. destinee says:

The sun is super hot and huge. Its over four billion years old. And the sun is the star at the center of the solar system.

  8. Claudia says:

The sun is a giant star with the surface temperature thousands of degrees higher than the earths. It’s high heats and constant fire cause it to brightly glow, earning its name as the sun because of how close it was to the earth and how it provided warmth and light during the daytime.

  9. Drake says:

The Sun is a star about four times bigger than the Earth. It is also about 10 times hotter than the Earth, being well past a million degrees.

  10. Marin says:

Things I know about the sun: I know that it’s a star, it’s made of fire, all the planets orbit around it, and it’s really big. I also know that it’s radius is 432,690 miles.

  11. Brogynn says:

The sun is just a big ball of super hot plasma that provides heat for our planet and all the other planets. Depending on how close or far you are from the sun you get more or less heat. The closer you are the more heat you get, but the further away you are you get less heat. The sun is a big star, the big star is considered the center of the universe. At night you want to see the sun very well. The sun creates and gives off heat, light and energy. While there is a lot that we know about the sun, there is still a lot to be discovered.

  12. Caleb says:

The sun is a giant ball of plasma. Our solar system rotates around the sun. All life on Earth depends on it. It takes seven minutes for light to reach Earth. It creates UV rays which are a type of somewhat safe radiation. The Sun on rare occasions can give cancer but most injuries related to the sun are slight burns. Although there is little to no light at night the Sun’s heat is still felt although weakened.

  13. Landon says:

I know that one day the sun will consume the earth. And that The Sun is traveling at 220 km per Second.

  14. Ellie says:

I don’t know a lot about the sun but I guess that’s what this blog is for. I know the sun is a star, that it gives warmth to the earth and that it will eventually explode like most stars do. I do believe that there are extra terrestrial life forms on all other planets including the sun but that doesn’t really matter. I’m not really one for science but this seems interesting.

  15. Matia says:

What I know about the sun, is that it is a star that is very far from Earth. The light in the sky during the day comes from the sun. When the sun isn’t shining on you, it is because the Earth is turned in such a way that the sun is blocked from you. It is shining on the other side of the Earth. Every planet orbits the sun. Our years are measured by how long it takes for our planet to orbit the sun. It takes three-hundred sixty-five days and about six hours. To make it easier on ourselves selves we just add an extra day every fourth year representing those few hours that have built up over the past four years.

  16. Leo says:

I know that the sun is the center of our whole galaxy. I also know that the Sun sends out energy that heats up the Earth and other planets. One more thing is that the Sun is 5.6 billion years old and is set to supernova in another few billion years.

  17. Tori says:

I know that the sun is very bright, hot, and far away from Earth.

  18. Julian says:

I know that the sun is made of gas and is 27 million degrees fahrenheit. I also know that it’s what our solar system revolves around. The sun also emits ultraviolet radiation and ultraviolet light. Hence the reason our eyes cannot look at the sun for too long.

  19. Alaina says:

The sun is a large star. Without the sun we would be in freezing cold weather.

  20. Christopher says:

The Sun is a large ball of plasma, which also provides warmth to the Earth and other planets.

    • Christopher Smith says:

Here are the new things I have learned about the Sun. So after an ancient star had exploded shooting dust and rocks everywhere into the solar system the Sun pulled all the dust and rocks together and formed planets. And the other things that I learned are that the gassier planets orbit farther away from the sun and the rockier planets orbit closer to the sun, The Sun was formed from a nebula.

  21. Bella says:

The sun is the big giant star in the center of the galaxy, it is responsible for lighting everything up. All the planets rotate around it some way or another. The sun is (obviously) very useful, it helps grow crops and stuff like that. It gives the world heat (even when it doesn’t feel like it.)

  22. Zoey says:

The sun is actually a star, throughout the known universe it is estimated there are over four billion of these stars. The sun that our planet rotates around is estimated to be at least three times larger than the earth. The sun provides us with light as well as warmth. The sun releases radiation, that’s why the ozone layer is so important, it protects us from harmful amounts of heat and radiation. In the night instead of the sun going down we just rotate. The reason we are still able to have light at night is not that the moon gives off light but reflects the light that is produced by the sun. It takes a whole year for the earth to rotate around the sun. When rotating around the sun where we are on the planet will either come closer or rotate farther away from the sun, to put it simply it’s how we get seasons. The sun is in the center of our solar system. Like all the planets in the solar system the sun has gravity. A sun can consume other planets after its consumed the planet the sun will persay grow. A black hole is created when a sun has so much mass and light that it concaves on itself.

  23. bruce says:

The sun is a huge ball of gas on fire 10 billion times bigger the Earth.
And it gives as vitamin C, heat, and lite but it is also trying to give us cancer.

  24. Xavier says:

The sun is in the center of our solar system as the planets around it orbit around it. A thing about the sun is that the sun can hold more than one million earths without any other space. The sun is about 100 times wider than earth and 300,000 times bigger than our earth.

  25. Addison says:

The sun is a large burning hot star that is surprisingly loud and if we could hear it we would all be deaf. During the summer we are closer and during and the winter we are further from the sun.

  26. Rai says:

The sun is a flaming ball of gas with a huge gravitational pull. It also has solar flares but i can not remember what causes them.

  27. izabel says:

The sun is considered a star. Then sun is also so hot, human beings physically can not live or land on the sun. The sun is also the perfect distance away from planet earth, so if the sun was one inch away from where the sun already is, the earth would be too cold. If the sun was one inch closer to earth from where the sun already is, everything on earth would burn to ashes.

  28. matthew says:

The sun Gives light and energy around the world

  29. Victoria Taylor says:

The sun is the star at the center of the solar system. It is the most important source of energy for life on earth.

  30. Triston says:

Everyday the Sun gets bigger little by little. Eventually the Sun would be hot enough to slowly kill life. Soon it will be hot enough to kill all life on Earth. By then we will be inhabiting on another planet.

  31. Mariah says:

The sun is the center of our universe and if the sun was just another inch away from the earth the earth.would be too cold. But if the sun was an inch closer the earth would be too hot for us to live here. The sun is a star or a big ball of flame and gas that if you get close to will melt or burn you immediately.

  32. Xavier Sch. says:

The Earth is about 1.3 millions times bigger than the sun and 100 times wider
