  1. Raegan says:

While too much of both the greenhouse effect and greenhouse gases can be damaging to the Earth, they are both still important and necessary for life. Without greenhouse gases, the Earth would not be able to retain heat, also known as the greenhouse effect. If the Earth isn’t able to retain the Sun’s heat, the Earth is too cold to hold and maintain life. The Earth’s heat, which is retained through the Sun through the greenhouse effect caused by greenhouse gases, keeps many plants and animals alive, and allows for many natural processes to occur. This is why both the greenhouse effect and greenhouse gases are necessary for life on Earth.

  2. Olivia says:

Greenhouse gases help to keep Earth at a temperature suitable for habitation. With these gases Earth would be very cold, too cold to support the life it does now. With to many greenhouse gases Earth may become to worm to support life.

  3. alec says:

Greenhouse gasses and the greenhouse effect are necessary to live. Because without greenhouse gases there would be nothing to get stuck in the atmosphere. And if no gasses get stuck in the atmosphere there will be nothing to trap the sun’s heat and energy in the atmosphere.

  4. Josh says:

Greenhouse gasses help keep the earth from freezing. If we didn’t have green house gasses, the temperature would drop too far to support life.

  5. matthew says:

Greenhouse gases are both damaging to earth and necessary for life. Greenhouse gasses hold heat in and an increase in them causes global climate change. However they are still necessary because without them there wouldn’t be anything to hold heat in on earth and earth would become uninhabitable.

  6. Caden says:

I am unaware of any way green house gases can cause life directly but a indirect way is by causing the greenhouse effect which can keep the atmosphere warm and not freezing cold. This would only work with right amount of green house gas so that it did not overheat the planet.

  7. Ally says:

With a lot of things, too much of anything is not good just like if there was too much greenhouse gases the earth would be damaged. But in order for life to continue on this earth both greenhouse gases and the greenhouse effect are crucial. Greenhouse gases allow the sun to retain heat which keeps plants, animals and people alive, this process is called the greenhouse effect.

  8. marchello says:

Well green house gasses are a good example of what a balanced environment needs as with too much can lead to things being to hot and ultimately lead to global warming but too little can lead to no heat being trapped in our atmosphere and it would be a lot colder.

  9. Hailey says:

Greenhouse gases are necessary for life because they help heat our earth. It also help plants in photosynthesis since they absorb carbon dioxide.

  10. Maddox says:

Greenhouse gas is what keeps our planet heated. But if we have to much gas it could warm up the earth to much and could have devastating consequences. Whether the environment changes or the climate as a whole changes.

  11. Frank says:

If we didn’t have the greenhouse gases the earth would not be liveable because the heat would not get held in and it would become too cold. The one keeping the heat in is the greenhouse effect. too little heat trapped in the earth would result in the world getting a lot colder

  12. Glenn says:

if we didn’t have marginal amount of green house gases the earth would become ice ball or if it gets to hot it’ll make earth a hot sand ball.
