If you could spend five minutes talking to leaders of the world’s countries what is one question you would ask them about climate change and what is one thing you would want them to understand about it? Indicate if these are leaders of developed countries (wealthier) or developing (poorer).
Mason D says: I would ask a developed country if they have done anything to aid climate change. I hope they understand not only the significant causes but the minor ones too since after we cure the bigger ones the smaller ones will stand out and create another problem.
Collin says: The leader I am talking to is wealthier. One thing I would ask the leader about climate change is, is climate change affecting your country. I would also ask if they have come up with ways to help prevent more pollution. One thing I would want them to understand about it is that we are speeding up the process of climate change with all of our pollution.
jevin says: I would ask them if they had any actual plans about it or if they were just doing it on the side. I would try and help them understand this should be priority number one because this will kill our planet faster than they think it would. And this would be toward all leaders.
Bella says: One question I would ask some of the world leaders is what their plans for the future are when global warming and climate change is irreversible. I want the leaders to know that it is coming up a lot faster than you might think. Since the developing countries aren’t feeding into the climate change/global warming as much as the developed countries, I would want to contact the leaders of countries like China, USA, and Russia.
Caitlin says: I would ask how different countries are affected by climate change in certain areas of the world,and which countries are actually working on it. I would tell them that climate change IS happening, and if they don’t work on it quickly, over time it will just get worse.
Emi says: Something that I would ask the leaders of every country in the world, well I would ask them “Do you think that your country’s people are ready to make a difference for the better, to help reduce the pace in which climate change is happening.” I would like to know if the leaders truly believe that their people are ready to make a change for the better of our planet. I would want them to understand that in order to make a difference we have to believe in ourselves, believe in others and work together. That no matter what differences or conflicts we have with each other we must put that aside and understand that if we don’t do something soon all of our growth and development will go to waste.
Benjamin says: I would ask a more developed country: Why haven’t you made progress protecting our planet from further disaster? I would want them to understand to take scientists seriously and that global warming is happening sooner rather than later.
kendra :D says: I would talk to the more wealthier country leader and ask them if they’re currently trying to slow climate change in their country. The one thing I’d want them to understand is that if they don’t do their part, climate change will only continue to get worse.
Phillip says: I would ask why haven’t you stopped burning fossil fuels or what are some of the new ways you are going to use to stop using fossil fuels. They have the money to do so and I would think they understand why climate change is a big thing.
mason g says: I would ask leaders what they plan on doing to help stop climate change, or aid the stop of climate change. I would like them to understand that climate change is affecting the world way faster than many people think, because people think that in their lifetime they won’t feel and experience any of the effects of climate change, but they most likely will.
Caleb says: If I were to have 5 minutes to ask questions about climate change to a world leader I would ask about how they are putting measures in place to reduce co2 emissions. I would probably ask a leader of a wealthier country due to them having more access to carbon emitting processes. The number one cause of co2 emissions is power production in the United States. I would ask how they can create power using less or no carbon emitting materials.
My one question about climate change would be: Why haven’t we progressed? Why haven’t we gotten better at taking care of our planet, you have the money and the resources to help us but you choose not to.
I want them to understand that climate change is getting worse. Way faster than they think.
